I’m Doug Ward, a credentialed wedding officiant based right here in Charleston, South Carolina. After years in corporate leadership and public speaking, I found myself drawn to something more personal: helping couples create meaningful, lasting memories at the start of their marriage.

I was born and raised in Charleston and returned home when my corporate career allowed. Charleston Vows Elevated grew from a simple belief: every couple deserves a ceremony that feels intentional, warm, and true to them. Whether it’s a quiet elopement on the beach, a ceremony beneath the oaks, or a celebration in the heart of downtown, the Lowcountry is a beautiful place to start a new chapter.

My background spans decades of leading teams, guiding experiences, and speaking in front of thousands. But what I enjoy most is connecting one-on-one, helping people feel at ease and fully present in life’s most important moments. That’s exactly what I bring to each ceremony: clarity, calm, and genuine care.
